Chocolate Caramel Squares

Some people feel like Chicken tonight....and then there's me :)

Chocolate Carmel Squares From Mary Sue Downey

1 package German Chocolate Cake (18 ½ oz)
1 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup plus ½ cup evaporated milk
¾ cup butter melted
60 caramels (1 14 oz package)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

In a large mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, pecans, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and melted butter. Press ½ of the batter into the bottom of a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inches glass dish. Bake at 350 for 8 mins. In the top of a double boiler over simmering water, melt caramels with remaining ½ cup evaporated milk. When caramel mixture is well mixed pour over baked layer cover with chocolate chips. Pour remaining batter on top of morsels. Return to preheated 350 oven and bake 18 minutes. Let cool.
